Police and paramedics were called to help a young male who eye witnesses say was ‘battered’ to a pulp on Lord Street this morning.
The incident happened just after 6am this morning outside the Edinburgh Woollen Mill store on Lord Street.
OTS understands the victim, who is believed to be in his late teens, had been assaulted by an as yet unidentified perpetrator leaving him worth severe injuries to his face and upper body.
The young man was rushed to hospital after paramedics and first responders did all they could to treat him at the scene.
An investigation has since been launched by Merseyside Police and anyone with any information should call 101 immediately.
