Southport’s chairman is to be banned from his own ground for two matches by the FA.
Phil Hodgkinson has been banned for two games and fined £300 by the FA after being abusive to a match official.
Hodkingson originally claimed the incident had been made up and even said OTS News had lied about the story, despite the FA publishing the findings on their own website.
He will now sit out the next two games after swearing and abusing a match official during Southport’s game against Curzon Ashton in October 2018.
He denied the charge but was found guilty in a paper hearing.
The findings come as a blow to Southport as it tries to build its reputation as a family friendly football club.
