@metofficeUK have issued a yellow warning of “danger to life” from STORM FREYA, which is due to make landfall on Sunday, bringing strong winds, traffic disruption and possible dangerous conditions.
The warning advises of risk from flying debris, damage to buildings and trees, such as tiles blown from roofs and fallen branches, and disruption to road and rail services.
Gusts of 55 to 65mph are likely, with potential for even stronger winds blowing in from the Irish Sea onto the north west coastline. Those in yellow warning areas should be aware of the potential dangers and should do what they can to secure loose objects in gardens which could be blown up in the winds into traffic or smash into windows.
