Sefton residents interested in volunteering are being invited to two special events in the borough this month (June) to tie in with Volunteers’ Week 2022.
Volunteer Centre Sefton – part of Sefton CVS – is holding the two drop-in Volunteer Open Hour events in Waterloo and Southport.
The south Sefton event takes place at the Sefton CVS office at Burlington House on Crosby Road North in Waterloo between 11am and 12 noon on Friday 10th June.
The north Sefton Volunteer Open Hour takes place at Southport Community Centre on Norwood Road in the town between 11am and 12 noon on Wednesday 15th June.
Organisers say that anyone who has considered volunteering, but hasn’t been quite sure how to go about it, will find these sessions an ideal opportunity to learn more about how to get involved and the many benefits of volunteering.
At each event a guest speaker will be sharing her volunteer story and the many benefits she has enjoyed because of it.
Volunteer Centre Co-ordinator, Lauren Jones, commented: “Volunteers are vital to the running of community and charity organisations across Sefton, and therefore make a huge positive impact on their local communities.
“So, if you’ve previously considered volunteering, but not been sure of the best way forward, put one of these upcoming dates in your diary.
“Why not bring a friend along too, and both of you can start your volunteering journey with us at Volunteer Centre Sefton,” added Lauren.
There is no need to book for these events but for more information in advance call Volunteer Centre Sefton on 0151 920 0726 or email info@volunteeringsefton.org.uk
