Work finally begins on new Southport Starbucks

Work has finally started on a brand new Southport drive through Starbucks.

Plans for the coffee shop on Marine Parade in  were submitted back in December 2021.

The new Starbucks will include an outside seating area as well as indoor coffee shop and drive through.

Alterations will also be made to the existing Ocean Plaza car park as part of the plans, leading to a loss of 51 car parking spaces.

In documents submitted by the developer it is claimed the development would “activate an under-utilised site which benefits from a prominent position.”

The planning application also states the Starbucks would add a new amenity for visitors to Ocean Plaza and complement the existing tourist offer in the area.
