There are so many good causes out there that it is impossible to support them all & extremely difficult to choose between them which invariably leads to not supporting anyone.
Woodlands Animal Sanctuary are aware of this, but also depend upon the donations are fundraisers that are held to continue the work that they do. The army of volunteers they have covers such a wide range of activities and each and every one of them contributes to the continuation of the charity and the growth they have been able to achieve over the past 14 years. However, with that growth comes more costs! And those costs still need to be met, by donations and fundraisers, because as an independent registered charity, Woodlands must raise all of their running costs themselves – they do not receive any regular subsidies from businesses or the government and their governing board of trustees are all unpaid volunteers.
If you enjoy getting hands on with the animals and don’t mind the dirt, smell or being outside in all weathers, volunteers on site assisting with animal care is always welcomed, or if you prefer bag packing in a supermarket or meeting members of the public at a collection that also brings in much needed money to allow the work to continue it all makes a difference. But, these may not be your thing, but you would still like to do something?
Well, there are various options with Woodlands that you can do, which all help the keep the cash flow positive.
Everyclick is a limited British Internet company that provides online fundraising tools for UK charities, donating half of its revenue to such charities. This simply means that when you search online using Everyclick, shop using the Give as you Live shopping links you raise money for the charity of your choice – at no cost to you! So you can register to raise money for Woodlands by going to https://www.everyclick.com/
If you are interested in the animals Woodlands cares for, you can sponsor one of the animal(s) at Woodlands from as little as £3 per month. You will receive regular updates and photos about your animal(s) and the full amount of your sponsorship will go towards the care of the animals.
Or you can simply set up a monthly direct debit for any amount you like, which will provide the sanctuary with a reliable monthly income – this helps them with their financial planning and helps to keep the cash flow healthy.
Woodlands are also very pleased to be involved with the Terracycle scheme which allows essentially non-recyclable items to be recycled – so not only will you be supporting Woodlands Animal Sanctuary you will also be helping the environment! Again, this is thanks to one of the sanctuary’s dedicated volunteers who have set this up for Woodlands off their own back! To be involved simply keep and clean and dry, items such as bread bags, pet food packaging and crisp packets, toothpaste tubes and plastic toiletry packages and deposit them in the Terracycle wheelie bin on one of the following dates: Tuesday 8am – 7pm, Thursday 8am – 7pm, Sunday 10am – 7pm situated at 44 TOWER HILL, ORMSKIRK, LANCS, L39 2EF. Terracycle awards credits for items sent in which are then converted into donations to Woodlands.
It really is true that every little helps, and so if you feel you would like to become involved in one or more of the above schemes, Woodlands will feel the benefit.
