Woman killed after collision with lorry

A PEDESTRIAN has been killed in Ormskirk town centre following a collision with a lorry.

Emergency services were c›hialled to Park Road at 12.30pm. Sadly the woman described as being from the area died at the scene.

A statement from Lancashire Police said: “We were called at about 12.30pm today (Thursday, October 17) to reports of a collision between a woman pedestrian and a lorry on Park Road in Ormskirk.

“The pedestrian, a local woman, suffered serious injuries and, despite the efforts of paramedics, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

“The road remains closed and enquiries into the circumstances of the collision are on-going.”
