Witness appeal after BMW Petrol bomb attack in Southport
A car has been torched to an almost unrecognizable degree in a targeted attack in the early hours of the morning in Southport (Tuesday 26 June 2017).
As well as being totally burnt out, the windows of the car had previously been smashed in by a brick in what police are treating as a suspected random attack.
It was found alight in the early hours of this morning at the junction of Portland Street and Hampton Road.
Fire crews were called around 2am to the scene and quickly extinguished the blaze. However it was far too late for the BMW.
The owners are now asking for any witnesses to come forward or potential CCTV footage to be passed to police in an attempt to find the culprits.
Anyone with any information is asked to call Merseyside Police on 101.
