Will Southport Pier be shut beyond September?

Ticket sales for the Southport Air Show have raised fears that the pier will still be closed through the summer.

Normally Sefton Council sell exclusive tickets for plane lovers to have VIP seating on the pier during the air show.

However this year tickets are not being offered, raising concerns that the currently closed Pier will remain shut until beyond September.

The air show takes place on 9th & 10th of September this year.

The council last said that they are still awaiting results of a timber survey on the Pier and repair work has yet to start.
