What You Should Know About Private Jets

18th June 2024

A private jet (business jet) is a jet aircraft designed to transport the owner (lessee) and his guests only. It is a comfortable alternative to commercial flights, providing a variety of routes without the need to coordinate with the official schedule.

A private jet is a very broad term. It can be a small single-engine vessel that doesn’t even have a toilet on board. Or it can be a huge “air house” with cabins and showers that can break the sound barrier. One way or another, business jets will never lose their relevance due to the increased level of comfort, privacy and significant time savings compared to an ordinary commercial flight.

Cost Considerations

Calculating the hourly cost, you will have to pay between US$1300 and US$3000 for a small private jet that can accommodate 4-6 passengers. For a medium-sized jet that can accommodate nine passengers, expect to pay between $4000 and $8000 per hour. For a large private jet that can carry 14 to 19 passengers, the price will jump from US$8,600 to US$13,000 per hour.

Small turboprops are the cheapest, and very light jets are the next most expensive.

It is worth noting that, in terms of cost and speed, chartering a very light aircraft is much more favourable. Since jets fly much faster than their turboprop counterparts, the number of flight hours paid for is reduced, especially if you need to cover long distances. However, for short flights, it is better to choose turboprops.

Safety and Regulations

When it comes to commercial aviation, security protocols are well established and standardised by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and other aviation authorities.

All private jet flights are only operated:

  • during daylight hours;
  • in good weather conditions;
  • in permitted flight zones;
  • along a specifically defined route;
  • while maintaining safe flight altitudes and speeds.

Rules for private flights:

  1. Book an airport transfer in advance.
  2. Be discerning and polite.
  3. Social media, photos and videos. You should not advertise your private jet flight. Be sure to ask for permission before taking pictures, posting pictures on social media, or marking them.
  4. The flight organiser is the first to board.
  5. Dress code. There is no specific style of clothing as such, but it is recommended to wear comfortable clothes, avoiding layering.
  6. On board a private jet, you have every right to keep your electronic devices on.
  7. Carriage of animals. No one forbids you to transport animals on board a private jet, but you need to wash and comb your pet in advance.
  8. Do not overstress the crew with personal conversations.
  9. Have good manners in the lavatory.

Aircraft may only take off and land from airfields with an equipped or unpaved runway. Aircraft may not take off or land from any unequipped site.

Landings on private territories are possible with prior agreement and written permission from the owner of the site.

Each “non-standard” flight must be agreed with the Manager in advance.

To make the flight as comfortable as possible and to make you satisfied, we kindly ask you to trust a private jet concierge.

Convenience

Private aviation means comfort, mobility and status. It also saves a lot of time.

When flying by private flight, you will feel as relaxed as possible, with all the staff pleasing and serving only you.

One of the significant advantages of private charters is that you depart and arrive from smaller airports and avoid all the queues, travelling like a VIP.

It is also possible to fly with pets.

Accessibility and Privacy

Private jet security is an integral part of protecting confidential information and valuable assets that can be compromised in commercial airlines. The confidentiality of business transactions, valuable assets and trade secrets must be ensured.

Elite flying is often very expensive. An alternative to owning a private jet is a charter. Private jets can also be rented on an hourly basis, which can cost thousands of dollars.

Any security breach can have catastrophic consequences, both financial and reputational, for the organisations and individuals involved.

The majority of passengers travelling by private jet range from celebrities and businessmen to government officials and diplomats from around the world. They are often always in the public eye. This carries certain risks for them.

Risks related to their safety and well-being are significantly increased. Therefore, it is crucial that their means of travel are private and secure.
