WATCH | Marine Way Bridge closed after man was struck by car

The emergency services was called to the Marine Way Bridge, Southport at around 12pm this afternoon (Saturday 4th March 2017).

Police arrived to find that a male had been struck by a vehicle traveling along the bridge.

Witnesses told our reporter “A woman was assaulted by a male near to the pier. Following this assault he jumped in front of a car on the marine way bridge.”

This information to be confirmed by the police later.

The man was transferred to hospital via air ambulance.
