Drunken idiots are being hunted by the police after swimming in the Marine Lake today, Thursday 14 May.

Sunny weather and unclear social distancing rules mean that thousands of people have flooded into Southport this week to enjoy the coast.

In bizarre footage a group of drunks congregating by the marine lake chose this afternoon to strip off and dip into the man made lake.

Swimming is banned in the marine lake due to shallow water and a negative impact on wildlife.
