Firefighters were called to a fire involving a washing machine at a property on Rookery Road in Southport at 4.41pm on Thursday, October 5.
Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service was called at 4.35pm and crews were alerted at 4.36pm. They were on scene at 4.41pm.
Two fire engines attended the incident and fire crews wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
No-one was injured. A washing machine was severely damaged by fire.
The kitchen of the property sustained fire and smoke damage.
Firefighters carried out a Home Fire Safety Check and installed two new smoke alarms.
Crews remained at the incident for around 40 minutes.
