POLICE are urging people in Formby to be vigilant following reports a woman has tried to persuade people to give her small quantities of cash under false pretences.
A report was received on Saturday 23 February that a woman has approached a number of people in Formby claiming she needs to top up her electricity and offering to pay the victims back once she gets paid at a later date, but failing to doso.
The woman has told people she lived in Formby and that her parents used to run a takeaway business in the town. She is described as being aged in her 40s, of slim build, with olive skin and long dark hair.
