A major junction has been thrown into chaos after traffic lights went down.
It’s thought that storm water has short fused the lighting system at the junction of Scarisbrick New Road and Ash Street this morning causing major issues for drivers who use the busy commuter run.
Engineers are on site but no temporary lights have been erected as yet and drivers are being warned to proceed with caution.
It’s hoped the lights will be back in fully working order before tonight’s evening rush hour.
Police are asking drivers in the meantime to take alternative routes.
