Warning as town centre bank machine gives out customer deposits

A Southport woman trying to cash a cheque at an automated bank machine this morning was shocked to be given an envelope stuffed with cash by the machine.

Suz Burne was trying to deposit a cheque at the atm outside Nationwide bank this morning but instead of being given a blank envelope to deposit the cheque in, the machine threw out an envelope stuffed with cash.

Suz believes this belongs to someone who tried to incorrectly deposit their money to the bank using the cheque machine.

she said “people should beware – I just tried to deposit a cheque at nationwide building society and instead of it giving me a empty envelope to deposit cheque it gave me the previous persons deposit which contained substantial cash.

”I will be returning the cash when building society opens and find out what has gone wrong.”
