A concerned mum from Southport says she wants other parents to be alert after her children were given ice cream from a vendor who was not wearing any protective equipment

The vendor was driving through a number of residential streets in Southport and is not thought to have been one of the areas ‘regular’ ice cream sellers.

The concerned mum said “ This guy took money off me, picked cones up (no gloves or mask) put flake in with no protection, passed me the cones and gave me change then proceeded to serve next customer.

”In hindsight I should have just given them him back but went I got in the house I took the cones off the kids and scooped out the ice cream and put it in cones I had in the house. made them wash their hands They had already eaten the flakes.

“I did pull him and asked him why he hadn’t sanitized his hands, he told me he did after each stop.

“I didn’t see any gel anywhere but he had served quite a few people taking money and giving change.”

“How many people are these ice cream men infecting? Why are they allowed to do this? And worse, why am I the only one to pull him?”
