An attempted burglary on Bankfield Lane in Southport was reported at 01:20am on the morning of Saturday 24tth August. No entry was gained to the house, but gas bottles were stolen from a caravan on the drive.
Two patrol cars on duty in Southport responded to the 999 call. Today, Crime Scene Investigators have attended to investigate for forensics and tonight, victim support has been carried out by one of the PCSO’s of the North Sefton Local Policing Team, along with a letter-drop to inform other local residents of the incident. Some other local caravan and campervan owners were also spoken to and made aware of the incident.
In light of what was taken, owners of caravans, campervans etc across the area are advised to review the security of their own vehicles and take the necessary steps to try to reduce risk to their own vehicles.
