A scheme providing free summer school holiday meals for children in Sefton is appealing for volunteers.
Sefton Council and charity Sefton CVS, who are working together on the initiative, say that many local families find the holidays difficult because they rely on the free school meals their children receive during term time.
As a response to this situation, the local authority and CVS are co-ordinating a net- work of local organisations who will be able to plug the gap by offering free meals in the holidays to children and young people.
This network includes Sefton’s children’s centres as well as a number of other com- munity venues across the borough.
These organisations are now appealing for volunteers who can lend a helping hand at one or more of the locations across Sefton.
