A Southport woman with a love of incredible swimming challenges is hours away from diving into a daunting dawn swim.
Despite a fear of swimming in the dark Victoria Lea will submerge herself in the Bristol Channel at 4am tomorrow with only a swimming hat, goggles and swimming costume, from Glenthorne Cove in Devon.
Victoria is raising money for The Southport Offshore Rescue Trust and Southport Swimming Club.
She said “Just so you know I hate swimming in the dark and I hate anything sealife being near me.
“The Bristol Channel is the second biggest tidal range in the world, so I am hoping that once I get up to the welsh side the tide will whip me across to Porthcawl!
“I’m asking for your help to raise money for Southport Swimming Club and Southport Lifeboat crew.”
Victoria wants to raise £3,000 from her sponsors. To donate visit https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-me-complete-the-british-triple-crown?
