Van destroyed in suspected arson attack

Fire crews are on scene at a blaze in the grounds of Hesketh Park.

A people carrier van has been torched and destroyed in a suspected arson attack this evening.

Emergency services were called to Park Road shortly after 7pm after reports of billowing smoke which could be seen for miles around.

When crews arrived they found a van which had been set alight.

An investigation is underway but early signs point to arson
