Following the break-in at the Merseyrail Community Stadium last night, the club would like to thank everyone for their offers to help and messages of support, especially our dedicated staff and volunteers who have been on hand to assist at this difficult time. It is very much business as usual from tomorrow though.
Most of the damage and mess has been cleared and plans are in place to ensure security is heightened as a result.
The club will now unfortunately have to foot the bill of 24-hour manned surveillance in the short term. In addition, no cash will be or is ever-left on-site overnight and new steel shutter doors will be installed across the main stand.
As a club we would now like to move on swiftly so we can focus on the upcoming football fixtures and our community work, whilst the police investigation continues.
