A man was cut to the face during a street attack in Southport yesterday evening.
Police were called out to Canning Road, near Cobden Road, at around 5pm to reports of an assault.
A 34-year-old man had been assaulted by another male who used a “sharp implement” during the attack.
The attacker then made off on a bicycle towards Southport town centre and the victim made his way onto Rosebery Street.
The man was taken to hospital where he was treated for a cut to the face.
Officers attended and witness, forensic and CCTV enquiries are underway.
