UPDATE | Man died after being hit by van on Lord Street

POLICE can confirm following a road traffic collision in Southport this morning, an 84-year-old man has sadly died.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers at this time.

We are appealing for information following a serious injury road traffic collision in Southport this morning, Wednesday 11 December.

At 8.45am, a call was received of a collision on Lord Street, between a van and an elderly male pedestrian.

The pedestrian received a serious head injury and was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition. The driver of the van stopped to assist with enquiries.
