Update: Man and woman found dead in Southport named

Post mortems have been held following the deaths of John Neill, 87 years and Lillian ‘Lilly’ Neill, 86 years of Frailey Close, Southport.

The results of the post mortems have been withheld pending toxicology reports.

At this time, the deaths are not being treated as suspicious.

Merseyside Police can confirm enquiries are underway following the death of a man and woman in Southport.

A report of concern for the safety of a man and woman in their 80s on Frailey Close was received today (Thursday 14 December 2017).

Emergency services were called to the house at about 11am. Police and paramedics attended and the man and woman were pronounced dead at the scene.

Work is ongoing to confirm the identities of the man and woman and post mortems will be conducted to establish the cause of their deaths.

Their deaths are being treated as unexplained at this stage.
