HM Coastguard Southport were paged to assist in a multi-agency Rescue at 6.20pm of a person who had fallen from Southport Pier onto hard sand below, 11/08/19.
On arrival Fire, Police and Paramedics has just made their way to the casualty at the end of the pier and paramedics were assessing their injuries.
The Coastguard team utilised their 4×4 off road vehicle and drove to the end of the pier to assist.
Once the casualty had been assessed and stabilised Coastguard with assistance from fire crews, Police and Paramedics used a Coastguard basket stretcher to bring them back the length of the pier to a waiting Ambulance.
At this stage, we believe the casualties injuries were not life-threatening but the full extent is not known.
This was a great example of the 4 emergency services working with each other in order to save lives.
