One of southport’s premier boutique commercial districts is looking for the final piece of its successful puzzle.
While the rest of the town struggles, Union Street is bucking the trend boasting five star rated cafes, pubs, bars, salons and shops.
However businesses along Union Street are now launching a campaign to find the final addition to their bustling street after one unit has become vacant.
DF Hair Design closed in late 2019 following the retirement of its owner and now Union Street champion Catherine Tapper, owner of the hugely successful Tapper’s Cafe, is leading the charge to find a new occupant for the vacant premises.
Catherine said “It was a huge loss to lose David after such a successful stint on Union Street, he was a popular character and had a great business. He brought a lot to the community and is definitely missed. We are looking forward to welcoming a new business to take his place and enhance our street further.’’
Union Street joins Lord Street with Hoghton Street in the heart of Southport’s Northern Quarter. It is home to may successful businesses including Tapper’s Cafe, Over the Moon Kids Boutique, Vintage Designer Dress Agency, The Guesthouse, Andrew Cunningham Building Design, Starkidz, The Hair Den and Viva Hair to name a few.”
