Union Street crime scene after mass brawl

Union Street in Southport remains cordoned off following reports of a mass brawl outside Punch Tarmey’s.

A member of staff from Punch Tarmey’s told our reporter that one man was taken to hospital with injuries sustained during a brawl.

Merseyside Police spokesperson said: “It was reported there had been an earlier altercation inside the bar, before two groups left and the men, aged 23 and 32, were assaulted outside.”

Both men were taken to hospital to be assessed and police confirmed they there this morning in a stable condition.
