Tulketh Street travellers try their luck elsewhere

Travellers have finally been moved from a town centre car park overnight.

The hoards of Irish travellers invaded Tulketh Street car park over the weekend with over thirty vehicles taking up the entire car park.

Police and the council were desperately trying to move them on before they finally dispersed last night.

Local residents say they are relieved at the news but are now asking why there are not any barriers or restrictions stopping it from happening again.

One said “until the council put up a barrier this is just going to happen again and again and it intimidates residents and makes us feel like we’re being invaded.”
