Halloween revellers have insisted they will creep it real this October, and that the local Halloween trail will go ahead despite coronavirus restrictions.
Residents accepting trick or treaters will be able to post a sign in the window of their home.
Maps and trails of the route will be published nearer the time.
On the Southport Halloween Trail Facebook group, Jan Hayes said: “Halloween is one of my fave celebrations. With the risk of local lockdowns and covid, many parents are scratching their heads trying to figure out a plan to celebrate safely.
“I’m asking all parents to organise a pumpkin trail, much like the rainbows and teddy bears during lockdown.”
