3rd August 2019

More and more tributes have been left for a much loved son who died following an accident on an electric bicycle near Southport town centre.

The man who has been named locally only as ‘Paul’, was understood to be in his mid-50s, was found lying injured on Albert Road shortly before 4.30am on Saturday, July 27. North West Ambulance Service were called and he was taken to hospital where he sadly later died.

It is believed that he had come off the electric bicycle he had been riding but police do not believe he had been in a collision with another vehicle.

Floral tributes left at the scene for the man, include: ‘To Uncle Paul, RIP, Forever missed. Sleep tight, sweet dreams’ and one which reads ‘To my darling son Paul, can’t believe you’re gone. I love you forever’ while another read, ‘Love and miss you always.’
