Today (Thursday 11th March) Cassie James spoke to Tony Roberts who was midway through the David Goggins 4x4x48 Challenge which he, his girlfriend Aimee Thompson and friend Craig Cowan were undertaking to raise money for Queenscourt Hospice.
Speaking on Cassie’s Mid-Morning Show on Mighty Radio Tony talked about how they were getting on with the challenge and why Queenscourt Hospice was important to him.
“I had to have an ice bath in a wheelie bin this morning! It wasn’t pretty but it got the job done! My legs have eased off now.
“We’ve only slept for four hours in total so far.
“My Dad passed away last July of terminal cancer.
“The last couple of months during lockdown Queenscourt really helped out and made his life amazing for those last few months.
“I wanted to throw myself in the deep end cause I’m not a runner. I wanted to give myself a real challenge for my Dad.
Tony’s initial target was to raise £400 and at the time of writing the amount raised is a whopping £2615.
