The Travellers have now left the site on Foul Lane, Kew, Southport, Sunday 22 March.
Merseyside police attended the site on a number of occasions over the week due to travellers having fires at the roadside.
Rubbish and human excrement has been left close to the public footpaths.
This part of town is a popular place for dog walkers, OTSnews spoke with dog walker who said:
“I was walking here last week when a women came out of her caravan dropped her pants and defecated right in front of me, these people clearly have no shame”
“I confronted a man who was sawing down a fence to burn and he just laughed and told me mind my own business”.
“Now they have gone will the council take precautions to stop this happening again?”.

Update: Police attend Traveller site on Kew Park & Ride Foul Lane Southport (Wednesday 18 March)
Merseyside Police are attending the traveller site on Foul Lane Southport, 9.30pm, Wednesday 18 March.
Four police response vehicles are currently at the scene.
OTSnews will provide further updates when information becomes available from Merseyside Police.

Although faster and more effective enforcement powers have come into force regarding unauthorised Gypsy / traveller’s sites, it still hasn’t stopped a number of travellers setting up camp on Kew Park & Ride Southport.
