Train services disrupted between Southport and Manchester after a person was struck by a train

A number trains between Southport and Manchester have been cancelled this morning, after a person was hit by a train in Littleborough, near Rochdale.

British Transport Police and from Network Rail will release more details to follow here.

For commuters travelling between Southport and Liverpool today, please allow extra time for your journey, with Ladies Day at Aintree races making roads and rail busier than usual.
