Traffic wardens now handing out litter fines in Southport
Litter louts are no longer safe from the prying eyes of rubbish enforcement officers now that traffic wardens are also getting in on the act.
OTS News has been sent photographic evidence of two litter louts who were pulled up for dropping rubbish on the floor of London Street earlier today (Tuesday 27 June 2017). But instead of being caught by one of the regular litter enforcement officers employed by the council, they were shocked to find they were being chastised by a traffic warden.
The fast acting warden, who can pass on the details to the enforcement team as well as issue fines in some cases, had clocked the duo near the Waterfields cafe before swooping in and making sure they paid the ultimate price for blemishing the town centre.
In the build up to the open council refuse teams and street cleansing have been sent on a ruthless mission to make sure the town shines ahead of a huge influx of visitors.
