Traffic chaos has struck Liverpool Road near to the Crown pub for the second time in months after a power surge saw traffic signals go down.
The busy junction connects Birkdale and Hillside and police have called on the council to come and fix the issue as soon as possible.
Drivers are asked to take extra precautions when travelling through the junction.
As yet there have been no accidents or collisions but one pub goer at the Crown said it was only a matter of time before someone was killed or seriously injured as a result of the outage
