Traffic chaos following Southport Air Show closures

The closure of the Marine Drive between the Pier and Pleasureland is predicted to cause long delays this weekend.

In sweltering temperatures drivers queued for over 30 minutes on Friday to get over the Marine Parade Bridge.

The Marine Drive will remain closed until Monday.

Avoid the area if possible.

4:00PM – 10:00PM FRIDAY MARINE DRIVE CLOSED BETWEEN FAIRWAYS ROUNDABOUT AND WELD ROAD/COASTAL ROAD ROUNDABOUT.

Traffic will be diverted onto the promenade/Rotten Row.
