Southport line dancers put their best foot forward for charity when they raised more than £1,160 with a their annual outdoor fund-raiser.
Hundreds of dancers took part in the Line Dance event on Sunday, May 27 at the Town Hall Gardens on Lord Street in Southport to raise money for the national cancer charity Macmillan.
Pam Walmsley from the Southport Fundraising Committee said: “We are pleased to say the Line Dance afternoon on Sunday went very well in lovely sunshine and was enjoyed by many of our regular attendees, both dancers and spectators.
“A total of £1161.44 was raised from the raffle and bucket collection, which is a good contribution towards Macmillan’s funds, particularly as they rely almost totally on voluntary donations to enable them to continue providing their special services to support cancer patients.
