A popular kebab chain eyeing up the former town centre McDonald’s building have pulled out of the move.
German Donner Kebab bosses were initially hopeful of bagging a town centre spot at the former McDonald’s building on the corner of Eastbank St and King St.
The proposal initially included a £500,000 cash injection and would have created 30 jobs. The chain is no longer pursuing its plans for the site.
Confirmation of the collapse was made after the building was re-listed for sale this week.
The McDonald’s franchise left the building in 2014 despite widespread popularity and constant custom since the early 1980s.
The building has been closed since and has failed to reopen.
Next door neighbours Poundland have also announced they are set to close.
