Southport welcome York City to the Pure Stadium for the first home game of the year as they look to recover from the Christmas blues.
Three defeats in their last three games made it a difficult festive period for Liam Watson’s side.
Meanwhile York won two of their three games over Christmas, as they strengthened their spot in second place in the Vanarama National League North table.
Last time out they welcomed Bradford (Park Avenue) to Bootham Crescent as they kicked off the New Year with a 2-1 victory, as Jordan Burrow and Macaulay Langstaff got the goals.
The former is leading the way for the Minstermen attack so far this campaign, with ten goals for the 27-year-old.
He is followed in the scoring ranks by Alex Kempster, who has bagged eight goals, including one against the Port.
Despite that he has not scored in over a month, as he will look to break his duck.
The last time these two teams met, back in September, there was nothing to separate the two teams in a 1-1 draw.
The Port’s leading scorer this season, David Morgan, got the goal for Watson’s side as they returned from the Yorkshire capital with a point.
The last the pair met at the Pure Stadium was back in 2018, as the Minstermen came away with a 1-2 victory.
Port fans will be looking for their side to recover from a recent blip in form, but will have to be wary against one of the stand-out sides in the league this year.
