TITAN arrest Four people in second phase of operation targeting the supply of class A and B drugs

Detectives from Titan, the North-west’s regional organised crime unit, have arrested four people in the second phase of a large-scale investigation into drugs supply this morning (Wednesday, 27 May 2015).

Four people have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A and B drugs. This morning’s activity follows the arrest of six people last week.

Those arrested (a 37-year-old man from Sheffield, a 31-year-old man from Anfield, a 38-year-old woman from Kensington and a 32-year-old man from Skelmersdale) have been taken to police stations where they will be questioned by detectives.

UPDATE (20 May 2015): SIX CHARGED WITH SUPPLY OF DRUGS 

Detectives from Titan, the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit, have charged six men with conspiracy to supply drugs.

​​Paul Douglas Berry, 45, of Abbey Walk, Preston has been charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs (cocaine) and Class B drugs (amphetamine)
Joseph Carlyle, 51, of Foxhouse Lane, Liverpool has been charged with conspiracy to supply Class B drugs (amphetamine)

Martin Liam Cleary, 36, of Shaw Lane, Prescot has been charged with conspiracy to supply Class B drugs (amphetamine)

Stephen Sidney Reeves, 47, of Charnock, Skelmersdale has been charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs (cocaine) and Class B drugs (amphetamine)
​​Stephen Ryan, 51, of Carfield, Skelmersdale has been charged with conspiracy to supply Class B drugs (amphetamine)

Michael Kearns, 43, of Dovecot Avenue, Liverpool has been charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs (cocaine) and Class B drugs (amphetamine)
​They will appear at Liverpool City Magistrates Court today (Wednesday, 20 May).

Detectives from Titan, the North-west’s regional organised crime unit, have arrested six people following dawn raids this morning as part of a large-scale investigation into drugs supply.

Teams of officers from Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside police entered houses and business addresses in Penwortham, Skelmersdale, Maghull, Whiston and Stretford shortly after 6.30am.

Titan detectives then arrested five men at these properties followed by a sixth man who was produced from prison in Preston.

All six have been taken to police stations across the North-west to be questioned by Titan investigators.

Police searches of all the addresses targeted this morning remain on-going.
DCI John Webster from Titan’s command team said: “This activity has come as a result of a lengthy and complex investigation by Titan and other agencies into the supply of large quantities of illegal drugs in the North-west.

“I would like to thank the officers from the local police forces where these warrants have been executed for their support in this on-going operation.

“It is extremely pleasing to be able to arrest six people who we suspect are involved in this conspiracy and search homes and businesses we believe are linked to them.

“Following these searches the six people will be questioned by teams of my officers at Titan and our enquiries will continue from there.

“Illegal drugs cause a great deal of harm to people from every walk of life and that is why Titan exists to tackle the top tiers of serious organised crime.

“We go after some of the biggest criminals in the region who cause some of the most serious harm through their drug dealing and violence and we remain committed to standing side by side with other law enforcement agencies to do all we can to take them out of circulation.”

The details of each person arrested are as follows:

45-year-old man from Preston arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply controlled drugs following warrants at a house in Abbey Walk, Penwortham and a business premises in Stretford

47-year-old man from Skelmersdale arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply controlled drugs following warrant at a house in High Street, Skelmersdale

51-year-old man from Skelmersdale arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply controlled drugs following warrant at a house in Carfield, Skelmersdale

51-year-old man from Maghull arrested on suspicion of possession of conspiracy to supply controlled drugs following warrant at a house in Foxhouse Lane, Maghull

36-year-old man from Prescot arrested on suspicion ofof conspiracy to supply controlled drugs following warrant at a house in Whitestone Court, Whiston

Details of the sixth man produced from prison are not yet available.
