Inconsiderate parkers have left those disabled and parents with young children forced to walk into the road after thousands of tourists flocked yet again to Southport as temperatures soared.
The costal Road footpath has been turned into a car park with hundreds of cars parking on the pavement illegally..
A number of the cars are clearly marked as out of town taxi cabs as drivers from as far a field as Yorkshire drove to Southport today to enjoy the sunshine.
One frustrated pedestrian said “I witnessed an individual in a wheelchair struggling to get past a car that was not just badly parked but parked bad enough to use the footpath and cyclepath…
“It also makes me wonder how pedestrians are supposed to distance when they can’t even use the footpath…. I just wish the traffic wardens could have ticketed every single one of these selfish motorists.”
