Why These Are Such Amazing Destinations
Greece continues to steal the hearts of British couples, with a whopping 880 searches. “It’s no surprise, really,” Claudia says. “Who can resist the allure of white-washed villages, crystal-clear waters, and golden sunsets over the Aegean?”
Whether it’s the iconic cliffs of Santorini, the party fun of Mykonos, or the rustic charm of Crete, Greece offers stunning backdrops at every turn. With plenty of affordable wedding packages featuring beachside ceremonies and boutique venues, Greece perfectly balances romance, adventure, and affordability.
With 840 searches for Italian destination weddings, it’s clear that this country continues to capture the imagination of lovebirds across the UK. From the rolling hills of Tuscany to the glittering Amalfi Coast and the romance of Venice, Italy has options for every couple.
“Couples are drawn to Italy for its rich history, mouth-watering cuisine, and stunning views,” says Claudia. “Popular wedding packages offer everything from vineyard celebrations to lakeside ceremonies.”
Cyprus, with 460 searches, is becoming a go-to spot for couples dreaming of a sun-drenched wedding day. Known as the “Island of Love” because of its association with the Greek goddess Aphrodite, it blends ancient history with stunning beaches.
Couples looking for a stress-free destination with endless sunshine should definitely consider Cyprus. The island’s Mediterranean charm, coupled with its vibrant culture, makes it a top choice for couples who want a balance of fun and tranquillity.
Spain might have a smaller search volume at 320, but that doesn’t make it any less appealing for destination weddings. With lively cities like Seville and Barcelona as well as a rich cultural scene, Spain also has a plethora of beautiful landscapes, from its famous southern beaches to gorgeous northern mountain escapes.
“There’s a huge variety of venues in Spain,” says Claudia. “You could have a coastal escape, a historic city setting, or a rustic countryside villa. Add in the incredible food and wine, and it’s easy to see why Spain remains a favourite.”
With 220 searches, Las Vegas is the ultimate pick for couples who want a wedding with a twist. Whether it’s a quick “I do” at a drive-through chapel or a glitzy, glamorous event at a luxury hotel, Vegas is where fun-loving couples go to celebrate in style.
The charm of Las Vegas lies in its versatility—whether you’re after a kitschy ceremony with Elvis officiating or an upscale celebration with breathtaking views of the Strip, this city delivers. Popular packages often include extras like helicopter rides or themed receptions, making Vegas a top pick for adventurous couples looking for a wedding as wild as they are!
Claudia Postigo, founder of The Planner Co., commented:
“Planning a destination wedding definitely requires a bit of extra thought and organisation. First things first, give yourself plenty of time to research venues, vendors, and legal requirements.
“It’s also important to consider the weather. Remember that summer months can be scorching in many of these destinations, which might make suits and a big dress (or even just being outside) unbearable. It’s often worth looking at off-peak months as you’ll get better deals.
“I also suggest working with a local wedding planner. Having someone on the ground who knows the area and can help with logistics is invaluable. They’ll know the best vendors and can handle any language barriers.
“And don’t forget your guests! Destination weddings can be tricky for friends and family to attend, so send out invites early, provide lots of travel info, and think about how you can make the whole experience a mini-vacation for everyone. Plan a few group activities to get everyone together, like a welcome dinner or a post-wedding brunch.”
