Atkinson bosses have cancelled a run of the Horrible Histories stage show in reaction to the passing of the Queen.
Refunds will be issued to anyone who bought a ticket to the show, which was set to take a light hearted look at the Tudor dynasty.
The show will now take place in October after bosses thought it was too improper to let the performance go ahead during the national mourning period.
The Queen’s funeral takes place on Monday September 19th.
An Atkinson spokesperson said “As a civic building hosting the Council’s official Book of Condolence, it was felt that it would be inappropriate for the Atkinson to proceed with the performances, whilst also welcoming residents to make their tributes and express their sorrow at the passing of Her Majesty the Queen.”
