Audiences in Merseyside will have the chance to experience one of the great operas in a modern setting.
Opera Viva are updating Verdi’s dramatic “Rigoletto” from Renaissance Italy to New York’s Little Italy in the mid twentieth century; and transforming the characters into members of a Mafia Mob, led by”The Duke”, who runs a Casino

The director of the production, David Palmer, who also sings the title role of Rigoletto, the cynical joker with a tragic secret, explains how Opera Viva makes traditional opera available to people who are new to the experience experience.
