Teenage girls are to blame for a recent crime and vandalism spree across Southport.

Merseyside police have identified a group of girls, along with other teenage individuals, who have been causing trouble in the town.

A 16 year old girl from Southport was arrested and conveyed to custody last night by Officers from Southport Community Policing Team, on suspicion of three separate offences, public order, criminal damage and burglary.

On Thursday night, another four teenaged girls were taken home to their parents following a number of calls to police about anti-social behaviour in the area of the Kew retail estate.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “

PSouthport Community Policing Team will continue to identify those responsible for ASB and crime in the area and take action appropriate to the circumstances. Other incidents/offenders are under investigation.”
