Southport Baby Bank have set their sights on expansion after the sad realisation that locally the need for their services is much greater than originally anticipated.
This week marks the anniversary of the first lockdown and in that year Southport Baby Bank have given out:
- 13657 nappies
- 470 packs of baby wipes
- 51 full clothing bundles
- over 1000 items of clothing
- 350 toiletry items for babies
- 150 other essential items
- 31 Christmas bundles for local families
- plus 3 full Christmas packages of presents and clothing for local families.
Southport Baby Bank have spent over £6000 on essentials and had their wishlist empty most of the time. All they have done has been made possible by donations and fantastic local support from the Southport community during this incredibly difficult time.
This year they are looking to hire a storage container or unit suitable for their needs and launch a second site and team in Skelmersdale in September after multiple families, agencies and groups have reached out over the last year asking for them to expand their services into the area.
To achieve their aims the team are now looking to raise an amount in the region of £10,000.
Kirsty, Naomi and Jenny will be taking on the Tough Mudder in July to raise some much-needed funds. The girls will be joined by our very own Nicola who will be making her Tough Mudder debut for this fantastic cause! You can support them by donating HERE.
