Swan survives push bike missile ordeal

Bird lovers are frightened swans and wildlife on the marine lake could get seriously injured after a group of vandals threw a bike at a swan.

A cygnet narrowly avoided being struck by the discarded push bike after yobs tried to hit it earlier this afternoon.

Photos sent into OTS show the now calm swan swimming around the bike but wildlife lovers say they are worried it’s only a matter of time before a bird is seriously injured.

One said “It doesn’t surprise me that there are cold hearted people who could do something so evil but this is beyond anyone’s imagination. How can somebody think that it is fun or good to throw a bike at a swan?”
