Swan chippy to reopen this weekend

A popular chippy will reopen this weekend after it was forced to close following a blaze.

Customers had to be evacuated from the Swan restaurant and takeaway on Stanley Street earlier this month after a fire in the frying section of the building.

Smoke filled the interior of the restaurant and was seen billowing from windows and a chimney which caused a large plume of smoke to form over the town centre. It will reopen at 11.30am on Saturday.
