Two suspects arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of a 32-year-old on Eastbourne Road yesterday have been released, with police now confirming that the death is no longer being treated as suspicious.
Police initially arrested a 23-year-old and a 32-year-old yesterday, as well as seizing both a Ford Transit van and an ambulance for forensic investigation.
The pair have been told they will face no further action.
Police said: “Officers investigating the death of a man in Southport yesterday have confirmed that the incident is not being treated as suspicious.
“At around 4.50pm, emergency services were called to Eastbourne Road where the body of a 32-year-old man was found.
“The two men arrested in connection with his death were interviewed by police and have now been released.
“A file will be prepared for the coroner.”
